Deutsche Telekom launches Firefox OS smartphone in Poland
Deutsche Telekom is starting sales of the new mobile Firefox OS with the launch of the Alcatel One Touch Fire in Europe. T-Mobile Poland will offer the Firefox OS-powered smartphone via its online sales channels already from 12 July and nationwide in 850 shops from 15 July. The smartphone will be offered starting from PLN 1 for mix subscribers when topping up by at least PLN 25, as well as with postpaid plans from PLN 39.90 per month. 

Market launches in further European countries will follow in autumn. In Germany, the phone will be marketed through Telekom's discount brand Congstar. The company's subsidiaries in Hungary (Magyar Telekom) and Greece (Cosmote) will also begin sales in the autumn. In Poland, the Alcatel One Touch Fire will be available from PLZ 1 (EUR 0.23) in combination with a special tariff.

Telefonica to bring Firefox OS to 7 countries this year

Telefonica plans to launch smartphones running the Firefox OS from Mozilla in seven countries this year. Congstar to sell Firefox OS smartphone in Germany

Deutsche Telekom's discount brand Congstar will sell a new Firefox OS smartphone from October. The Alcatel One Touch Fire model will be targeted at new smartphone users and will be exclusively marketed in Germany through Congstar. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks. Congstar mobile customers can book add-on options via SMS

Deutsche Telekom's discount brand Congstar has informed customers in a newsletter that they can book options to add onto their mobile phone tariffs via SMS, reports teltarif.de. They can also cancel these options via SMS. The new feature is open to both pre-paid and contract customers.

Deutsche Telekom's discount brand Congstar has announced a co-operation agreement with regional carrier NetCologne to offer discounted fibre broadband services. TCL, producent van de mobiele telefoons van Alcatel, heeft aangegeven dat het deze zomer zijn eerste smartphone op basis van het Mozilla Firefox OS zal introduceren. Alcatel Firefox smartphone to launch this summer

TCL, the maker of Alcatel mobile phones, announced that its first smartphone running the Mozilla Firefox OS will be available "this summer" in Europe and Latin America. The Alcatel One Touch Fire was first announced in February as slated for launch in June. Further details on the exact launch date or pricing were not disclosed.
