Deutsche Telekom submits bid for Telekom Slovenije - report

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom has not submitted a takeover bid for Telekom Slovenije but this has been done directly by its majority owner Deutsche Telekom, Poslovni Dnevnik reports, citing information from industry sources. However, Deutsche Telekom is counting on Hrvatski Telekom as logistical and potentially as operational back-up for the takeover of the Slovenian operato, it said. In other words, formally the buyer would be Deutsche Telekom, but there would be a large practical role for Hrvatski Telekom. The Slovenian government and Sod are being advised by Citigroup, while Deutsche Telekom's advisors are JP Morgan Chase and Barclays. The Slovenians are targeting EUR 700 million from the privatisation and expect that it should be concluded by the end of this year.
