After signing the UK joint venture agreement with France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom will focus on strengthening T-Mobile USA and acquiring frequencies in European markets, according to German newspaper Handelsblatt citing company sources. The operator has been talking about possible US options at the end of August, which include acquiring its competitor Sprint to keep pace with the largest mobile operators AT&T and Verizon Wireless. To fund US expansion, an IPO of T-Mobile USA could be the solution.
