Deutsche Telekom to lose German iPhone exclusivity - report
Deutsche Telekom will lose exclusivity for Apple's iPhone in Germany, bringing the number of providers who sell the popular device in the country to three, people familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires. In addition to Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Germany and Telefonica O2 Germany will sell the iPhone, with one source claiming that deals haven't been finalised yet but negotiations are in an advanced stage. Deutsche Telekom's exclusive rights to sell the device haven't been extended and could end as early as October. Deutsche Telekom has said it sold a total of 1.9 million iPhones in Germany as of 30 June of this year, since the launch in 2008. Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, O2 and Apple all declined to comment.

Vodafone Germany to sell iPhone 4 from 28 October - report

Vodafone will start selling the iPhone 4 officially from 28 October, reports online magazine macnotes.de citing well-placed, unnamed sources. The SIM-locked phones will be sold by Vodafone with contracts. Currently, Telekom Deutschland exclusively sells iPhones in Germany. The source said the Apple would directly supply a large number of black iPhone 4 models to Vodafone Germany from end-October. The source said that Apple would deliver a six-figure number of the devices per month.

Vodafone Germany stops selling iPhones via partners - report

Vodafone Germany has informed its partners that it stops selling iPhone 3GS devices via their networks, reports iphone-ticker.de. The iPhone news website cites a Vodafone memo that advises partners to tell disappointed potential customers that if they leave their e-mail adres, they will be contacted soon with a solution to fulfil their demand. Vodafone has been selling the iPhone 3Gs without Sim lock in combination with a Vodafone subscription via sales partners since July 2009.

Telekom Deutschland does not fear a possbile loss of exclusivity with regards to selling the iPhone in Germany, according to CEO Niek-Jan van Damme in an interview with inside-handy.de.
