Digi expands into Spanish fixed market with fibre offer at EUR 30

MVNO Digi Mobil has launched its first fibre-optic offers after agreeing a deal to use Telefonica’s FTTH network earlier this year. After leading Spanish number porting rankings among MVNOs for nearly a year thanks to its revamped mobile range, Romania-based Digi is now looking to take on rivals such as Masmovil and Telefonica’s own O2 brand in the low-cost fibre segment. The launch offers include a symmetric 30Mbps download and upload service for EUR 25 a month or a symmetric 500Mbps service for EUR 30 a month. There are no installation or router fees but a 12-month permanence clause will be applied.

In addition, all customers who sign up to a mobile plus fibre convergent plan will be offered double the existing mobile data, with the Ilimitado 3GB, 6GB and 20GB unlimited calls bundles rising to 6GB, 12GB and 40GB for EUR 6, EUR 9 and EUR 12 respectively.

Digi specified that the service is currently only available in the Madrid region but will be expanded to other Spanish regions in due course.
