Digicel Panama launches USD 100 mln 4.5G network

Panamanian operator Digicel has unveiled a 4.5G LTE service offering download speeds of up to 180Mbps, reports local daily La Estrella, citing the company's executive director Ana Patricia Salazar. The network's coverage is 30 percent greater than Digicel's rivals after an upgrade that cost around USD 100 million, said Salazar, adding that the speed of the so-called "LTE Pro" service will initially be limited to 30Mbps in Panama City.
