
Digicel Group saw EBITDA reach USD 1.08 billion in the year ended 31 March, up by 13 percent from USD 954 million in the financial year ended 31 March 2011. EBITDA margin was flat year-on-year at 45 percent.
Revenues increased by 14 percent to USD 2.54 billion. Value-added services and data revenues jumped by 47 percent year –on-year, and currently account for 20 percent of Digicel’s overall service revenues. The growth was mainly boosted by Digicel’s 4G mobile offering which is now available in 14 markets across the globe (with further rollouts planned) and by the rise in smartphone usage, the company said. The Diaspora business saw its revenues grow by 28 percent in the period.
Digicel ended March with over 12.8 million customers across the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific, which represents an increase of nearly 27 percent year-on-year.
