Dixons Carphone mobile sales continue to fall over Christmas period

UK-based mobile and electricals retailers Dixons Carphone has reported group like-for-like revenue up 1 percent for the Christmas 2018/2019 trading period, with international like-for-like up 5 percent, Nordics revenue up 3 percent and revenue in Greece up 19 percent. The International business made up almost 40 percent of sales over the period. 

For the 10 week period to 05 January 2019, UK & Ireland electricals revenue was up 2 percent on a like-for-like basis, with UK & Ireland mobile revenue down 7 percent, with a continued decline in the 24-month post-paid market (down 8% in the period). The iD Mobile service continued its growth with the customer base reaching over 975,000. 

The full-year PBT guidance remains unchanged at around GBP 300 million, with Dixons Carphone set to publish preliminary results on 20 June.
