Docomo Pacific to launch LTE in Guam
Docomo Pacific, Guam-based wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Docomo will launch its LTE service on 4 October. Docomo Pacific will initially provide its LTE service in high-traffic areas, such as Tumon, Tamuning, Dededo, Sinajana and part of Hagatna. The service gradually will be expanded to other areas on Guam going forward.

GTA to expand LTE network across Guam

Guam operator GTA plans to expand its LTE network to reach 95 percent of the country by September. The company launched its LTE network in October 2013. GTA will add 21 new LTE sites to include one on Andersen Airforce Base in Yigo. In 2014, GTA acquired spectrum to increase capacity and internet speeds on its 4G network. The operator is also deploying additional 3G sites, and plans to invest an overall USD 20 million in various network improvements in 2105.

Docomo buys Guam operator MCV

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo has bought MCV Guam Holding, the largest cable TV and internet service provider in Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The purchase from private equity company Seaport Capital is worth approximately USD 129.8 million and will enable Docomo Pacific to offer MCV's cable TV, internet, and fixed-line phone services under its own brand. Docomo Pacific also expects MCV's fibre network to enhance its mobile network.
