Telecompaper expects revenues to grow faster than subscribers over the full year as well, due to price increases at Ziggo and KPN in July.
FMC growing
The Dutch market finished Q3 with 2.375 million households using fixed-mobile bundles, up 2.8 percent from a year earlier. The most common bundle is a quad-play, combing broadband, TV, fixed telephony and mobile services, which accounts for three-quarters of fixed-mobile packages. However, broadband with TV and mobile is the fastest-growing fixed-mobile combination, and accounted for almost 19 percent of the subscriptions.
KPN is the biggest provider on the fixed-mobile market with 55.8 percent of subscribers, followed by VodafoneZiggo with 42 percent and T-Mobile with 2 percent.
Traditional 3P still biggest
Despite the growth in fixed-mobile offers, the traditional triple-play still accounts for the largest share of multiplay households, at 44 percent. The double-play of broadband and TV grew to a 12.9 percent share in Q3, up by 0.4 percent points from Q2, and the quad-play reached 25.8 percent, an increase of 0.3 percent.
Across the entire multiplay market, VodafoneZiggo is the biggest provider with 48 percent of connections. KPN lost market share in the quarter and was down to 39.1 percent. VodafoneZiggo also took the largest share of multiplay revenues, at 48.3 percent or EUR 567 million, followed by KPN with 42.3 percent.
Telecompaper expects fixed-mobile to take a growing share of the market, both in subscriptions and revenues, due mainly to growth at T-Mobile and VodafoneZiggo. The traditional triple-play of broadband, TV and fixed telephony will increasingly be replaced by broadband, TV and mobile services from the same provider.
