Dutch satellite station in Burum to move, opening up 3.5 GHz band for 5G

The satellite monitoring station in Friesland has prevented any real use of the 3.5 GHz band in the north of the Netherlands, above the line formed by Amsterdam to Zwolle. This was to prevent disruption to the monitoring activities of Dutch intelligence services AIVD and MIVD. The band was also not used during the 5G field tests of 5Groningen. A consultation held with the Dutch Ministry of Defense earlier this year yielded few results, it turned out in June.
