E-Plus drops roaming charges for pre-paid customers
German mobile network operator E-Plus has dropped roaming charges for pre-paid customers travelling within the EU from start-March. Ortel, Mobilka and Ay Yildiz will follow from 11 April, followed by other group brands and partners soon after. This is part of the E-Plus 'Roam like Home' campaign and follows the launch of the 'EU Reise Flat' tariff for contract customers.

E-Plus's Turkish community MVNO Ay Yildiz is launching a new TV marketing campaign featuring six customers giving testimonials about the service. The TV spots will be seen from 15 April across the Kanal D, ATV, Star TV and STV channels. This will be supported by online and billboard activity.

Ay Yildiz discounts high-speed data add-on cost

E-Plus's Turkish community MVNO Ay Yildiz is discounting the cost of extra high-speed data by 50 percent. Customers who download the free Ay Yildiz app can order extra high-speed data for EUR 1.50 between 01 April and 30 June, instead of EUR 3. The discount applies to all options with an internet flat up to 1 GB high-speed data.

Ay Yildiz cuts rates for customers travelling to Turkey

E-Plus's Turkish community MVNO Ay Yildiz is cutting the cost of calls, texts and data for customers travelling to Turkey, onlinekosten.de reports. The promotion runs until end-September and applies to Aystar pre-paid as well as Ay Allnet and Allnet Plus post-paid customers. Incoming calls in Turkey are free, with calls within Turkey and to Germany cut from 39 cents to 9 cents a minute. Mobile data is being lowered from 99 cents to 29 cents per MB for customers in Turkey.

MTV Mobile refreshes tariffs from 01 April

The MTV Mobile brand of German mobile network E-Plus is refreshing the MTV Mobile tariff. From 01 April, the tariff will include the MTV Music powered by Rhapsody music flat-rate. For EUR 19.95 per month, customers will also get 300 any-network minutes plus 500 MB high-speed data.

E-Plus Group offers direct carrier billing with Syniverse

German mobile network operator E-Plus is rolling out direct carrier billing across the Base, E-Plus, MTV Mobile, Aldi Talk, Ay Yildiz and Metro Mobil brands. This allows customers to pay for Google content such as apps through their mobile phone bill (post-paid) or from their pre-paid credit. The service is provided through a partnership with mobile services provider Syniverse .

WhatsApp, E-Plus to offer prepaid tariff from April - report

German mobile network operator E-Plus and mobile messaging company WhatsApp plan to offer a pre-paid cards with WhatsApp option, 'Wirtschaftswoche' has learned from company sources. All texts, images and videos sent through WhatsApp will not be deducted from the purchased data allowance. This means that customers will still be able to use WhatsApp when their credit has run out. WhatsApp will unveil pricing before the product launches at start-April.
