Legally obliged to, E-Plus will start-up its UMTS network before the end of the year, but it will introduce corresponding handsets no earlier than early next year during the CeBit exhibition. CEO Use Bergheim said in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung he doesn't expect anything from the new technique during next year. Sales of handsets and 3G service will go only slowly. KPN, E-Plus's parent company prepares the launch for mid 2004, but this is depending on the supply of handsets and the UMTS strategy of its competitors.
