The hiptop is a mobile communication engine that combines web browser, email, organiser, digicam, AOL Instant Messenger, games and mobile phone. From the beginning of November this unique device will be available exclusively from E-Plus. The product from the Californian company Danger Inc. is ideal for people who are away a lot and wish to stay in online contact with their company or friends or simply keep up to date all the time.
Customers who chose the hiptop have to sign a separate mobile phone contract irrespective of whether they are existing E-Plus customers or customers of another mobile network operator. On conclusion of a 24-month contract the phone costs 249 euros*. Amongst other things the Hiptop comes with an attachable camera and a convenient headset.
For the unlimited use of the hiptop data service E-Plus is offering a very straightforward tariff model: Customers pay a monthly basic charge of 19.95 euros as a flat rate. For this amount they can surf the internet, send and receive emails or use the AOL® Instant Messenger (AIM) as much they like whatever the number of emails or kilobytes of data transferred. Calls to the fixed network or other mobile networks cost 49 cents per minute. SMS are charged at a single rate of 19 cents each.

*This offer is valid only until 31.1.2004 on simultaneous conclusion of an E-Plus Service mobile phone contract with the additional service “hiptop” with a minimum term of24 months and a one-off activation charge of EUR 24.95, basic charge for the provision of standard telephony and hiptop services EUR 19.95 per month, plus national call charges of EUR 0.49/min [excluding premium rate numbers, value-added services and call diversion), units: the first minute of each call is charged in full irrespective of the actual duration of the call, then per second.
