
eAccess, Rakuten partner on mobile data venture

Japanese communications provider eAccess and e-commerce group Rakuten have established an LTE mobile data joint venture called Rakuten Emobile. The new company will launch Rakuten Super WiFi, a mobile data service, on 1 October with pre-registration starting on 19 September. A total of JPY 500 million has been invested in the new company, with a 51 percent stake held by Rakuten and a 49 percent stake held by eAccess.
