Editorial Atlantida, media group, has paid USDlr52 mil to acquire a majority stake in Televisoras Provinciales and together with it seven TV channels in the Argentinian countryside. The deal also involves a majority stake in Televisoras Provinciales which until April 1998 controlled 30.17% of Telefe, and the channels in Salta, Neuquen, Cordoba, Santa Fe, Rosario, Bahia Blanca, and Mar del Plata. Also, Editorial Atlantida has the option to acquire other channels in Mendoza and Jujuy. The operation was made by Atlantida's subsidiaries, with Television Federal paying USDlr2.5 mil for 100%
