EE, Guardian unveil mobile user-generated content platform
UK mobile network group EE announced a partnership with Guardian News & Media to unveil a new online and mobile user-generated content platform called GuardianWitness. Powered by EE, GuardianWitness will allow the public to submit their videos, pictures and text directly to the Guardian for inclusion on the platform. The new platform is available via free iPhone or Android apps, or online via witness.guardian.co.uk. GuardianWitness content will be open to all to browse and view but in order to contribute to the platform, users will need to create an account, either through their existing Guardian account or through their Facebook/Twitter profiles.

EE claims 318,000 4G mobile customers

UK mobile network group EE has confirmed that its 4G customer base has reached 318,000 five months after launch (2.3% of the postpaid base), putting the company on track to meet its target of over one million 4G customers by end-2013. Over 1,600 medium and large companies are using the EE 4G network, with the network set to cover 70 percent of the UK population by end-2013. EE launches Huawei E5776 mobile WiFi

UK mobile network group EE has launched the Huawei E5776 mobile WiFi in the UK, the first 4G-enabled CAT4 device in the UK. The Huawei E5776 WiFi will be available free on EE's range of existing 4GEE Mobile Broadband plans, starting from GBP 12.99 per month with 1 GB data.
