EE rolls out 4G service to 60% of population
UK communications company EE has confirmed that the 4GEE service is now available in more than 100 towns and cities, with 10 new places added in August. The expansion comes as Vodafone and O2 prepare to launch their 4G networks at the end of August. Accrington in Lancashire is the 100th town to get the EE service, which will also be switched on by end-August in Ashford, Bicester, Colchester, Guildford, Milton Keynes, Redhill, Sevenoaks, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Woking. This will boost the total number of towns and cities covered to 105, or 60 percent of the UK population. EE is also upgrading existing 4G networks to offer double speeds of 24-30 Mbps, with this upgraded technology now live in Sunderland, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton. Double speed 4G from EE is now available in 20 towns and cities across the UK.
