Eircom to resell Digiweb satellite broadband service
Eircom and Digiweb Group has announced an alliance that allows Eircom to resell Digiweb's Tooway Satellite broadband service across Ireland. Emer Kennedy, Director of Product Management and Development at Eircom, said it selected Digiweb due to the quality and competitiveness of the Tooway product range, combined with its expertise and satellite technology. The Eircom satellite broadband products will cost EUR 44.99, EUR 59.99, EUR 79.99 and EUR 132.99 per month for usage allowances of 2.4 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB and 12 GB respectively. All packages will offer download/upload speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps/384 kbps, and all have a EUR 760 connection fee (which includes the purchase of satellite equipment).

Magnet CEO accuses Eircom of 'misleading' price increases

Irish broadband and phone company Magnet Networks has accused Eircom is misleading customers with its recent price increases, the Irish Times reports. Magnet CEO Mark Kellett said that the average 3.1 percent increase figure used by Eircom was 'spin' designed to cover the true costs of the increases. Eircom said the price increases would not affect those subscribed to bundles, with Kellett noting that around 330,000 Eircom customers do not subscribe to a bundle.

Eircom announces prices changes from 11 March

Irish operator Eircom has confirmed plans to implement a number of changes to current call charges for base rates and out of package calls. Daytime hours have been extended as part of the changes which come into effect from 11th March. On average, bills will increase by 3.1 percent. Broadband, line rental and bundle subscription prices are unaffected by the price changes. Eircom claims that more than 70 percent of customers who only avail of the call minutes offered within their bundle will see no increase
