Telenor AB, a Swedish subsidiary of the Norwegian Telenor Group, and ElisaCom Ltd, a subsidiary of the Finnish Elisa Group, signed a Preferred Partner cooperation agreement. This agreement was drawn up on the basis of a letter of intent signed in July.
The parties act as preferred partners when their customers are offered landline telecom and voice service solutions that extend to the Nordic and Baltic countries. The cooperation agreement will significantly enhance both companies' capacity to serve Nordic customers. This agreement will allow both Telenor and Elisa to expand the geographic coverage of their services, as Telenor will be able to benefit from Elisa's network connections in Finland and in the Baltic states, and Elisa will similarly benefit from Telenor's network connections in Scandinavia.
"For Elisa's business customers this partnership means easy access to state-of-the-art corporate network services throughout Scandinavia. We are very pleased that we can now guarantee flexible high-quality services for the international customers of both partners," says Pasi Lehmus, Managing Director of ElisaCom Ltd.
Elisa provides international telecommunications services through its extensive partner network, which this agreement with Telenor further expands. Since the beginning of 2002, Elisa has been involved in large-scale co-operation with the world's biggest mobile operator Vodafone with the objective of developing and marketing mobile products and services. The co-operation with Telenor expands Elisa's landline service production in the Nordic countries.
