Apple and EMI Music have reached an agreement for EMI's complete digital music catalogue to be made available for purchase from the iTunes store without digital rights management (DRM). EMI DRM-free tracks will be offered at a higher quality 256 kbps AAC encoding, results in audio quality that is indistinguishable from the original recording. Tracks will cost USD 1.29 per song. ITunes customers will also be able to easily upgrade their entire library of all previously purchased EMI content to the higher quality DRM-free versions for just USD 0.30 song.
