EMT, Elion adopt Telia brand
Estonian operator Eesti Telekom has switched to the Telia Eesti brand. Mobile services previously provided under the EMT brand, as well as fixed services provided under the Elion brand will also be offered under the Telia brand going forward. Eesti Telekom is controlled by the TeliaSonera group.

Teo, Omnitel merge to form Telia Lithuania

Lithuanian fixed operator Teo and the mobile operator Omitel have merged to form the new company Telia Lithuania. A former subsidiary of Teo Baltic Data Center (BDC) has also become part of Telia Lithuania. Going forward, the company will only use the Telia brand, as part of the Sweden-based operator's efforts to unify its branding across the region. The operator owns 70 service centres in Lithuania which will also be refitted with the new branding.

TeliaSonera said shareholders at its 12 April annual general meeting (AGM) will decide whether it should change names and become Telia Company. The new name would signify its strategy to become "a new generation telco", which it said was a "journey" that began two and a half years ago. Since then, a new strategy, organisation and operating model have been set, and it has acquired and divested companies as well as venturing into new areas

Netcom changes name to Telia

TeliaSonera's main brand in Norway, NetCom, will change its name to Telia on 1 March. This is a natural step following the integration of Tele2 and Netcom that has been executed during the last year, the company said. According to the operator, being part of the main brand benefits both consumers and enterprise customers, and the Norwegian society as whole.

Teo, Omnitel to use Telia brand for intra-corporate purposes

Lithuanian fixed operator Teo and mobile operator Onmitel will provide services under their own brands after their merger, reports Vz.lt. The operators will use their new joint Telia brand for intra-corporate communication only. Lintel, a subsidiary of Teo, will continue working under its own brand, too.
