Italy-based electricity company Enel is preparing the takeover of France Telecom's minority stake in Wind, the telecom joint venture in which both companies are involved. The purchase price of about EUR 1.5 billion reflects the dramatic plunge in the valuation of mobile telecoms stocks over the past year. Just over a year ago, former France Telecom chairman Michel Bon announced he expected to sell the stake for EUR 3 to 5 billion, according to the Financial Times.
