Epicenter.works criticises pirate site blocking by ISPs

Network activists at Epicenter.works have sharply criticised blocks by Austrian ISPs on websites offering content illegally available for streaming or download, in line with a Supreme Court ruling from several years ago. Der Standard said since the ruling, the domestic film industry has routinely provided network blocking, regarding this as an effective measure against online pirates. For example, sites such as Kinox.to and The Pirate Bay are only accessible via detours for many Austrian users.
