Ericsson invests in production facility in Poland

Ericsson announced a new production facility in Poland, in the town of Tczew in the Pomorskie region in Northern Poland. The company said that it plans to focus on 5G equipment at the new plant.

The production has already started, and the plant is planned to reach full capacity in the first quarter of 2020.

Around 2,000 staff work in R&D units of the company in the country, at units based in Lodz and Krakow.

Ericsson has chosen a strategic partner for its production activity, and the partner is expected to raise production of the 5G equipment.    

Ericsson noted that it's expanding its manufacturing capabilities to be close to its customers in Europe. This investment in production in Poland complements the company‘s existing European production site in Tallinn, Estonia. 

Ericsson has a global supply chain with manufacturing in several countries, including the US, China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Estonia and Poland.
