Ericsson strengthens presence in Silicon Valley
Ericsson will base its head of Business Unit Support Solutions and member of the company's executive leadership team, Per Borgklint in Silicon Valley, California. In 2012, 20 percent of Support Solutions' sales were in North America and with the acquisitions of ConceptWave, Telcordia and Mediaroom, the overall operations in North America are expanding. The business unit Support Solutions develops and delivers software-based services for operations and business support systems, real-time enablement, multi-screen and on-demand TV, compression and m-commerce. In total, Ericsson has some 15,000 employees in North America of which over 1,100 are in Silicon Valley. Once completed, the acquisition of Microsoft's IPTV business Mediaroom will bring an additional 300 employees to Ericsson in the US.

Ericsson enters agreement to acquire Telcocell

Ericsson has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire the entire business of Telcocell, a Canada-based consulting and systems integration company specialising in Business Support Services (BSS), as well as its subsidiary. Approximately 200 services employees and consultants based in Canada and the United States are expected to join Ericsson. Syringa selects Ericsson to support LTE network deployment

Syringa Wireless has selected Ericsson as the technology provider for its LTE wireless platform. The company's 4G deployment is currently underway and will be available to customers in October 2013. Utilising the Ericsson platform, Syringa Wireless will provide wireless broadband services to residential and business customers, mobile devices and LTE switching services to other regional wireless carriers. The Syringa Wireless LTE services will be available in late fall 2013.

Ericsson to buy Microsoft IPTV business Mediaroom

Ericsson has agreed to acquire Microsoft's IPTV business Mediaroom.
