Ericsson to cut almost 1,000 jobs in Sweden
Ericsson unveiled plans to cut almost 1,000 jobs in its home country Sweden. The company will shut down its production site in Gavle, resulting in 856 job losses. Ericsson said the closure was due to advances in production techniques and efficiencies, requiring less manpower. The network equipment maker will also lose 90 of the 1,037 jobs at its site in Boras, Sweden.
