Ericsson has been selected by Greek wireline operator Vivodi Telecom to deliver 10,000 ADSL 2+ lines using Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution, providing new broadband capabilities to Vivodi Telecom subscribers.
Through this co-operation with Ericsson, Vivodi Telecom will build an advanced broadband access network using Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution, allowing the operator to deliver triple-play services of data, voice and video over one common infrastructure.
The order includes an end-to-end broadband access solution, with a network management system, project management and installation, integration and commissioning services for Vivodi Telecom's existing network. Spare parts replacement; second and third-level support services and competence development training are also included.
Sofia Kounenaki-Efraimoglou, President and Managing Director, Vivodi Telecom, says: "Broadband is a field in which we invest systematically, based on our philosophy of offering integrated, state-of-the-art telecommunications solutions. Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution will reinforce the quality and competitiveness of our services and enable us to offer new, advanced services such as triple play to our subscribers."
Bill Zikou, President, Ericsson South East Europe, says: "We are pleased that Vivodi Telecom has selected Ericsson as the supplier for this Ethernet DSL Access solution, in order to offer advanced services to its customers. This agreement is further confirmation of our partnership with Vivodi Telecom and demonstrates again our commitment to the development of the Greek broadband market."
