The European Commission is proposing regulation in order to set up a European Network and Information Security Agency. The objective of the Agency will be to serve as center of competence for both members states as well as EU institutions. They can seek advice on matters relating to cyber security. The agency is supposed to play a key role in the security of Europe's digital economy and the development of the information society in genera.
At the same time the Dutch government announced the formation of an internet security service in The Netherlands. This service will put alerts on the internet through e-mail and SMS messages about hackers, viruses and security incidents related to the internet. Also advise will be given to prevent these sort of incidents.
