Eutelsat to carry 5,500 hours of HD content for FIFA World Cup in Russia

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, starting on 14 June, Eutelsat announced that it currently has satellite capacity bookings for the equivalent of 5,500 hours of ad-hoc HD programming from several TV channels and service providers. The company said that it will be uplinking signals from eleven cities across Russia during the month-long event to deliver content across Europe, Russia and the Americas over five of its own satellites (Eutelsat 7A, 10A,16A,33E, and 36B).
