Everything Everywhere considers dropping brands - report

UK mobile network group Everything Everywhere is considering dropping both the Orange and T-Mobile brands, reports The Times. The move would generate annual savings of tens of millions of pounds for owners France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom. It is understood that a branding review completed in 2011 decided on a fresh name for the business. A new name for the group is not expected to be announced until the second half of 2012. The group hinted at such a move in a recent prospectus for a planned bond issue. The document said that it was considering developing an additional or new brand for the group which may complement or replace one or both of the Orange and T-Mobile brands. It went on to say that branding plans were commercially sensitive and stressed that the prospectus was 'a guide' outlining options without giving any details on the conclusions of its brand review.
