Facebook launches Reactions feature worldwide

Facebook has released its Reactions feature, which extends the Like button with more emoticons, for all of its users worldwide. The company said the global launch follows positive feedback since it started testing Reactions in a few markets last year. To add a reaction, users must hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.

Facebook will initially infer that if someone uses a Reaction they want to see more of that type of post. It will not matter which reaction is used at the beginning, but over time the company aims to learn how News Feed should weigh the different reactions to improve how it shows users the stories they most want to see.
