Facebook Messenger hits 1.2 bln monthly users
Facebook announced that its Messenger service has reached over 1.2 billion active monthly users. That's up from the milestone of 1 billion users announced in July 2016. The news was posted by David Marcus, head of Messaging products at Facebook, on the social network. 

Messenger still has fewer users than Facebook, which reported 1.86 billion monthly users at the end of 2016. WhatsApp reported over 1 billion users worldwide in February 2016.

Facebook growth slows slightly but sales still up 45%

Facebook saw its growth slow slightly in the second quarter, with sales up 45 percent year-on-year to USD 9.321 billion compared to over 50 percent in previous quarters. This is in line with the company's previous warning that growth will slow as the ad market saturates. Net profit still increased 71 percent to USD 3.894 billion or USD 1.32 per share, better than market expectations.

Facebook announced the expansion of ads on its Messenger. After "promising" tests in Australia and Thailand, the company is launching Messenger ads worldwide. More than 1.2 billion people use Messenger every month.

Facebook passes 2 bln monthly users

Facebook has passed the milestone of 2 billion monthly users of the social network. The company last reported 1.94 billion monthly users at the end of March. To mark the milestone, Facebook said it would be adding a "Good Adds Up" video to News Feeds in the coming days. Facebook growth is peaking, time to take the next step with AR/VR and AI

Facebook managed to maintain its revenue growth at over 50 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016. In 2017 growth is expected to slow and margins will drop. The company will increase its investments in AR/VR and AI, which will put further pressure on margins and free cash flow. Facebook grows Q4 sales 51% on mobile expansion

Facebook reported another quarter of over 50 percent revenue growth in Q4, while also more than doubling net profit. The social network's revenue rose 51 percent year-on-year to USD 8.81 billion. With operating costs rising a slower 21 percent, the margin improved to 52 percent from 44 percent a year ago. Net profit jumped to USD 3.57 billion or USD 1.21 per share from USD 1.56 billion or USD 0.54 per share in Q4 2015.

Facebook announced that its Facebook Messenger service has passed 1 billion monthly users around the world. The company last reported 800 million active users for Messenger in mid-January, while its other messaging platform, WhatsApp passed 1 billion users in February. Facebook introduced a floating balloon emoji to mark the milestone for Messenger, inviting customers to use the design to celebrate.
