Facebook unveils Anonymous Login and updated Facebook Login

Facebook has introduced Anonymous Login, a new way to log into apps without sharing any personal information from Facebook, along with a new version of Facebook Login with enhanced privacy controls. Facebook is currently testing Anonymous Login with a few developers, and plans to open it up to more developers in the coming months. The service was unveiled at the company's developers conference, f8.

With the new version of Login, consumers can select the data an app is allowed to collect by unchecking categories of information. The new Facebook Login also will not post to Facebook without permission. Facebook is planning to start reviewing new applications that use Facebook Login to offer higher quality apps to consumers.

Facebook has also announced a newly designed dashboard that provides users with a list of apps they use, as well as the ability to manage specific permissions or remove apps entirely. The new dashboard will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
