Fastweb, Vodafone seeking EUR 1.1 bln damages from TIM for fibre rollout

Italian operators Fastweb and Vodafone are seeking a total of EUR 1.1 billion in damages from Telecom Italia (TIM) for abusing its dominant position in the fibre-optic broadband market, reports Corriere delle Comunicazioni, citing TIM's 2020 financial report. The two operators filed separate lawsuits at a Milan court requesting damages of EUR 966 million (Fastweb) and EUR 110 million (Vodafone) in the wake of the EUR 116 million fine imposed by antitrust watchdog AGCM last year that accused TIM of carrying out a "premeditated anti-competition strategy" to preserve its dominant position and
