At the cable congress in Amsterdam sharp criticism was heard on the project of the Amsterdam municipality to implement fiber to the home. According to the critics the project is doomed to fail because a lack of interest among investors. Besides this, critics claim that only well to do inhabitants of Amsterdam will benefit from the fiber project. This could lead to a trailing behind of people in poorer quarters of the city. At the cable congress in Amsterdam the suggestion was put forward to review the project to make sure that all people could take advantage equally.
