Fitbit unveiled at CES a new smartwatch called the Blaze, bringing it in closer competition with the Apple watch. The Fitbit Blaze is already available for pre-sale and will launch worldwide in March.
The slim device design is more stylish than previous Fitbit models, with interchangeable bands and frames, and a colour touchscreen with a variety of clock faces. It also comes the usual range of features to track health and fitness, such as FitStar for on-screen workouts, connected GPS, PurePulse heart rate tracking, and SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition. The smartwatch also delivers 'smart' notifications for calls, texts and calendar alerts from a smartphone synced over Bluetooth, and Fitbit promises a battery life of up to five hours on a single charge for the watch.
The Fitbit Blaze works with Android, iOS and Windows devices and will sell for a recommended price of USD 199.95. It will be available with black, blue, and plum bands at introduction, along with a collection of premium accessory bands and frames.
