Fitbit to launch glucose monitoring system on Ionic smartwatch
Fitbit and DexCom will together develop a continuous glucose monitoring (GM) service for people with diabetes. The idea is to bring the DexCom system to Fitbit’s Ionic, its latest health and fitness smartwatch. The companies are targeting availability for as early as possible next year. 

People will be able to use the smartwatch and monitor their activity and glucose levels on their Android and iOS devices.

Also under the cooperation deal, Dexcom CGM users will be able to tap into Fitbit’s in-app Community, connecting with millions of people also with diabetes, for questions, support and success stories.

Fitbit en Dexcom hebben bekend gemaakt gezamenlijk een glucosemeter te ontwikkelen voor mensen met diabetes. Onder de voorwaarden van de samenwerking zal het systeem van Dexcom draaien op de Ionic, de smartwatch die onlangs door Fitbit werd onthuld.
