
Ford is collaborating with Domino's Pizzas to test another application of autonomous technology, namely the delivery of pizzas via autonomous cars, according to the Verge.com, citing Ford VP of Ford Autonomous Vehicles and Electrification, Sherif Marakby. During the research, Ford Fusion Hybrid autonomous research cars will be remotely driven by a Ford safety engineer to deliver pizzas to customers who will need to the pizza delivery's company mobile app and a touch screen installed on the car to unlock a Heatwave Compartment, which is a container in the car that keeps the food warm.
Marakby said the project is the first of multiple partnerships the company enters into in order to ramp up autonomous vehicle testing.
