Former Google CFO Pichette joins Twitter board

Twitter announced the appointment of former Google CFO Patrick Pichette to its board of directors, effective 01 December. He replaces Hugh Johnston, the CFO of Pepsico who is stepping down from the start of October in order to join Microsoft's board.

Pichette (55) served as Google CFO from August 2008 until May 2015. Prior to that, he worked seven years as an executive at Bell Canada, holding position such as operations president and CFO. Previous employers include McKinsey and Canadian operator Call-Net Enterprises.

Pichette is expected to join the audit and compensation committees at Twitter. Since his departure from Google, he has been on a two-year sabbatical with family.

His appointment comes as Twitter is struggling to grow revenues in the increasingly concentrated digital advertising market and is still far from reaching its target of a net profit. In July the company already named a new CFO
