
German telecom service provider Freenet wants to sell off its DSL operations and will focus on mobile internet and content services, according to a spokeswoman cited by press agency Dpa-AFX. Freenet has set up a holding structure with a mobile division and a fixed telephony/DSL division and now decided to focus on the mobile division. Interested parties have already been in touch with Freenet, but the spokeswoman would giver any more details. Freenet also plans a share buy back program, which has to be approved by the supervisory board and expects its EBITDA to reach EUR 250 million for 2007 and a pre-tax profit of EUR 160 million for the same period.
