French health & safety agency issues recommendations to limit radiofrequency radiation for smartphone users

France's health & safety agency ANSES has released a report produced earlier this year to assess the danger from radiofrequency radiation when mobile phones are carried close to the body. Since April 2016, the standards to measure the specific absorption rate (SAR) for the trunk body region have become more stringent. Smartphones manufactured before this change could pose a health risk according to the agency, as they could fail to meet the current limit of 2 W/kg.
