FT board approves appointment of Richard as Deputy CEO
France Telecom's board of directors has approved the appointment of Stephane Richard as Deputy CEO from 1 January 2010. The proposal was submitted by the group's chairman and CEO, Didier Lombard, as announced last spring as part of preparations for his succession. The board has also confirmed that on 1 January 2010, Richard will continue to perform the roles he has held since October, operations in France and the Home line of business. Richard is expected to succeed Lombard as CEO when his term ends in 2011.
