UK budget MVNO GiffGaff, which uses the O2 network, has reached one million customers, four years since launching operations, reports The Telegraph newspaper. According to accounts filed at Companies House, GiffGaff added 532,000 customers in 2012 to reach almost 800,000. This number is understood to now be around or over one million. The accounts show that operating losses grew from GBP 32.7 million to GBP 38.2 million in 2012, on revenue up 4-fold to GBP 79.85 million. Meanwhile, GiffGaff has confirmed that it is now selling handsets from 18 November. It is offering a range of 20 handsets, with customers able to buy their phones upfront or choose a repayment period of 6-24 months. The MVNO has teamed up with pee-to-peer organisation RateSetter to offer peer-to-peer lending for members to lend each other cash to buy handsets.
