Google acquires photo-editing site Picnik
Google has acquired Picnik, an online photo-editing service. Picnik allows users to crop, touch up and add effects to photos from the web browser, without downloading software. Users can import photos from other sites such as Facebook, Picasa or Flickr and then save edited photos in the cloud. Google said the service would continue as normal, as it works on integration with other Googles services. No financial details were released. Picnik said it has around 20 employees and receives "millions" of visitors to its site each month.
