Google, LG ink global patent cross-licensing agreement
LG Electronics and Google have signed a long-term patent cross-licensing agreement. The deal covers the two companies' existing patents as well as those filed over the next 10 years.

Verizon, Google sign long-term patent licence deal

US operator Verizon Communications announced a long-term patent cross-license agreement with Google, covering a broad range of products and technologies. The agreement allows each company to reduce the risk of future patent litigation. Both companies said in a statement that they are interested in signing similar deals with other companies. No further details of the agreement were released.

LG en Google sluiten patentlicentieovereenkomst

LG Electronics en Google hebben een overeenkomst bereikt om wederzijds patenten in licentie te geven. De overeenkomst geldt voor alle huidige en nieuwe patenten in de komende tien jaar. Google en Samsung hebben eerder al zo'n overeenkomst bereikt. LG meldt dat er patenten worden gedeeld voor een breed assortiment van producten en technologieën. Daaruit kan de conclusie worden getrokken dat het niet alleen gaat om Android smartphones, maar ook over apparatuur in huiskamer en huishouden.

Delaware jury says ZTE infringed 3 InterDigital patents

Licensing group InterDigital said that it has prevailed in a jury verdict involving ZTE, before the US District Court in Delaware. The jury found that three patents in the case were both valid and infringed, namely the "power ramp-up patents" and US patent number 8,380,244. The judge will hold another trial to determine ZTE's infringement on US patent number 7,941,151 (151).

Warner Bros awards IP licensing deal to Technicolor

Technicolor has signed an agreement with Warner Bros Entertainment to be its exclusive intellectual property (IP) licensing agent, excluding patent pool licensing programmes. Technicolor and Warner Bros have been partners in Blu ray technology since 2010. Warner Bros will rely on Technicolor's track record of monetising its IP portfolio and partnering with technology leaders to grant licences on its behalf.

Licensing company, WiLan and Inscape Data have signed a patent license renewal agreement pursuant to which Inscape Data receives a multi-year running royalty license to certain wireless technologies. The consideration to be paid by Inscape Data to WiLan and all other terms of the renewal agreement are confidential.

Wilan extends licence with Allied Telesis

Licensing company WiLAN announced that the company and Allied Telesis have signed a patent licence renewal agreement pursuant to which Allied Telesis receives multi-year running royalty licences to certain wireline and wireless technologies. The consideration to be paid by Allied Telesis to WiLAN and all other terms of the renewal agreement are confidential. WiLAN first signed licenses with Allied Telesis in October 2008.
