Google announced a new venture capital fund to invest in artificial intelligence technology. Gradient Ventures will provide technical mentorship for early-stage start-ups focused on artificial intelligence.
In addition to capital, the fund will provide technical resources and dedicated access to experts and bootcamps in AI. Each investment will include the acquisition of a minority stake in the start-up.
Some of the first investments include Algorithmia, a marketplace for algorithms and functions, and Cogniac, a suite of tools used to create and manage visual models.
