Google wins patent infringement case filed by Microsoft
The Mannheim Regional Court in Germany has ruled that Google's Motorola Mobility Holdings division does not infringe on a patent held by Microsoft, according to The Wall Street Journal. The lawsuit concerned a radio interface patent making app use for consumers easier. Microsoft has not commented on whether it will appeal against the court's decision but Microsoft Corporate Vice President David Howard said in a statement that the 05 October ruling will not impact the three injunctions Microsoft was previously awarded against Motorola products in Germany. Microsoft and Motorola have both filed patent infringement suits against each other in Germany and the US, the article said.
