Greece raises EUR 201 mln in 1,800 MHz auction

Greek telecommunications authority EETT secured EUR 201.450 million through the allocation of frequencies in the 1,800 MHz band. Cosmote bought the largest share of spectrum for EUR 83.150 million, while Vodafone Greece and Wind Hellas paid EUR 59.2 million and EUR 59.1 million respectively for their licences. 

Cosmote bought five 2x5 MHz blocks in the 1,855-1,880 MHz and 1,760-1,785 MHz range with validity from 6 December 2020 for 15 years. Vodafone Greece acquired three 2x5 MHz blocks in the 1,830-1,845 MHz and 1,735-1,750 MHz range, which are available from 6 February 2018 to 5 December 2035. Wind Hellas bought three 2x5 MHz blocks in the 1,805-1,820 MHz and 1,710-1,725 MHz spectrum, valid from 6 February 2018 to 5 December 2035.
