Motorola is set to decide on the new head of its struggling mobile phone unit, with HP executive Todd Bradley emerging as the company's favourite, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. Bradley is one of two candidates still under consideration. Another person on the short list is a telecom executive, but the identity of that person couldn't be learned. Motorola declined to comment. Bradley has worked at HP since 2005 and has helped turn around its PC business by focusing on retail sales and designing new, consumer laptops. He was CEO of PalmOne, when Palm split into two companies focused on software and hardware.
